WED Favorites: Vintage Charm…

Maybe it’s that’ I just re-watched 500 Days of Summer and fell in love with it (and Zooey Deschanel’s wardrobe) all over again, but I’m loving vintage these days. Mixing it with contemporary pieces… I just love it. Plus it doesn’t hurt that I love just about everything from every era gone by. (Except maybe the 80′s. I lived through that the first time and somehow it’s just not as fun the second time around. Anyway, I’ve been inspired and I’ve been browsing Etsy, where else, for some seriously amazing pieces that I need to have. I bought a beautiful pair of vintage earrings from Belle’s Booty yesterday. See below. Side note- She’s awesome, and her stuff is great!

WED FAVORITES: Fun & Crafty Fabulousness…

Oh. my god.

I’ve died.

Seriously.

I cannot explain how much I adore Merrilee Liddiard’s whole entire world.

I love this so much that my whole entire WED Favorites post today, is all about her.

My friend Shauna who works with me in my “real life day-time job” sent me this magical link, of Merilee, who moonlights as a pretty amazing illustrator.

I clicked on the link, where I subsequently died.

Immediately.

Look. Not many people these days can pull off amazingly crafty and cool well. Ok so I don’t even know where to start. First, her illustrations are amazing. Her line drawings of couples are my absolute fave, WHICH, she has parlayed into super fab wedding gifts. Seriously how awesome is that? Best wedding gift ever. She even has an ETSY STORE! Hooray! I love Etsy.

This photo was just after she gave her best friend Angie’s husband Jonathon a sneak peak at their wedding gift- a customized portrait. The actual portrait is below.

Also, and I don’t know if miss Merilee would do this, but it’s probably worth asking if Save the Date’s are possible as well with these super fab couple drawings.

Ok moving on. So little to see, with so much time. Strike that. Reverse it.

Fabulous hostess she is. Check out this Moody Mod Tea time party she threw, with all the amazing details.

Ready… the tablecloth is Ikea fabric, and the fabric banner is all vintage fabric she sewed together herself. Love.

But the absolute best part… is these crazy invitations. DIY- Easy peezy.

Bananas.

Cut out a little fabric tape, and sewing a stitch across the invite. Plus it doesn’t hurt it your everyday handwriting is this amazing…

Ok so clearly I think Merilee’s work is insanely amazing. She’s also super fabulous, and her husband and two boys are totally charming and vintage. I love it. Check out all of her amazing work at her blog here, and her illustrators work here.

Sneak Peak: Katie & Chris

My dear friend Katie and her boyfriend of… a very long time- we’ll call it over ten years for our purposes- got married as only they could- in a beautifully rustic setting in rural New Hampshire. I affectionately refer to this wedding as the “The Wedding in the Woods,” because that’s what it was, and it perfectly fit Katie and Chris’s laid back personalities.

Katie and Chris chose a beautiful camp on Lake Winnipesaukee for their wedding, which was casually chic, just like the them. While Mother Nature had other plans,the little bit of rain didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits. These amazing photos come to us from photographer Kari Herer, who not only photographs amazingly beautiful things, she also creates them. Check out her Etsy Shop too!

I can’t believe it’s September. How did that happen? I have a few amazing weddings left for the year, and I’m still waiting on photos from some of the last few that I attended to share with all of you! In the meantime though, here are some of my FAVORITE new Etsy finds for Fall.

So I kind of love the rehearsal dinner festivities. It’s a gret welcome for the weekend, sets the tone, the mood… Excellent.
