Well ladies I have been waiting to blog about some amazing froof, and the day has finally come. The Blue Onion Marketplace is an adorable new online shop that just opened up with full-force. Back in the Spring of this year, I stumbled across Michele (she’s the super fabulous owner at Blue Onion) and her amazing collection of Dulken & Derrick pins. These are THE beautiful silk flowers you see styled on all of the latest fashions for J.Crew.
Well now they’re available for you to style at home. Which is seriously amazing.
Dulken & Derrick is perfect for Fall, and PERFECT for weddings. Pin the corsages to a great jacket, dress or t-shirt and go.
Here are some of my favorite’s
We did a test run with some of these fabulous pieces at Katie & Chris’s Wedding in the Woods. I pinned the Vintage White Peony pin- above- into my friend Shauna’s super simple updo. With her Navy and white dress and…

Total success.
But heed this quick warning ladies… when you’re unpacking that duffle from your weekend away, avoid throwing these amazing pins into the wash. They’ll die. Trust me.
But seriously, these are totally versatile. Pin them on a dress, fasten it to a belt, or bobby pin it into your hair. They’re beautifully made and have a seriously high-end feel. Plus, they’re super affordable.
So The Blue Onion Marketplace also has super fun OTHER things too. I hear the Dulken & Derrick pins, but they also carry Streamline Luggage- which is A-MAZING. The Editor Series is my favorite… I think. I also really love The Aviator Series. They’re so old Hollywood yet… made in Ireland. I love it.
They also carry Passotti Ombrelli umbrella’s and hats, and have a line of Kate Aspen luggage tags and party favors coming soon!

J.Crew Aholics- Aren’t you so excited by this?!?!?
Happy shopping girls!
How did it get to be August? Seriously. I have a Westchester Wedding this weekend so I’ll be sure and update you all next week. In the meantime… Happy hump day with today’s WED FAVORITES!
I love this… so delicate and feminine.
LOVE these. I’m a big fan of making your wedding bouquet be more than just “pretty.” Use it to honor a family member, or honor your new life together. These are super sweet and classic. Plus you can just tie them on. Easy- peasy. They’re also featured in the Aug/Sept ’09 issue of Modern Bride.
Love me some froof. You know it. PLUS these have beautiful love notes written on them. Amazing.
That’s all for now… new BEAUTIFUL and AMAZING Real Weddings and Engagement Photos coming up!
Hi lovelies! So I decided to make Wednesday my mid-week “WED favorites” day. Get it? There’s no rhyme or reason, just some of my most favorite pretties from the past few days.
Think of it as a Mid-week round-up of all things fun, fabulous and very right now.
O.K. class. Let’s get started…
New monogrammed items dropped into my e-mail box from The Palm Gifts today! Love the aprons and the new boat totes!
Also, I LOVE the total focus on ACCESSORIES (FROOF) happening at Anthropologie. It’s wonderful! I love all of it. Sigh.
I mean if this doesn’t scream Derby Day party, I don’t know what does. Seriously.
While I was home shopping at the little- shop that isn’t anymore, I bought myself a pretty patterned Vera umbrella for spring in their new yellow bird pattern. I love it.
I also really love this. I was Etsy browsing again… really nothing new, and came across this perfect vintage inspired pearl and gold charm bracelet from Glint by Mich. I’m kind of a closet beach freak stuck in the concrete jungle of the city, so I think this- subtle gold beach charms and perfect little pearls- are charming… get it. Ha. These are totally sold out, which is sad, but maybe they’ll be more? It’s called the Hampton Lane Ivory Pearl Bracelet with Sea Charms- AND get this… inspired by Grace Kelly in Rear Window. Amazing.
I also got a sweet little fragrance package from Lulu Beauty last night! Can’t wait to test out their fun and flirty fragrances and give you the lowdown on what’s aisle worthy!
Happy Hump-Day!
I hope you were all a little bit more lucky in life and love today! After all everyone really is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day. Make those little green leprechauns hiding in the shadows send some of that luck your way! In honor of my Irish half here are some of my favorite green Etsy items for you brides out there (and I personally know at least one) incorporating lucky and lovely shades of green into your wedding world! Green Weddings! So fun!
A word of caution: Don’t incorporate ALL of these things into your green wedding world. Often…less is more.
This is adorable from Etsy Seller LuckeyU. You can absolutely do this on your own too. A little spanish moss, branch basket and ribbon (local craft store) and you have your very own DIY ring pillow. OR you could just invest in this fabulous one.
No secret I love me some pink and green. But green works well on its own with weddings because it matches all your flowers- more or less- and it’s almost a “neutral” color when used sparingly as an accent color with other neutrals. These super cute polka dot ties from Etsy seller Me and Matilda, would be great with a khaki colored suit. Very casual, very backyard, very good near water. Love them!
Subtlety can go a long way… ditch the bright green bridesmaid dress and opt for shades of green that COMPLIMENT each other. Don’t make me come find you…
Leg Candy… Green Garters go a long way.
And finally and quite obviously… lil bit of Froof…
Those of you who know me, KNOW that I love me some froof. Ya know… oversize flower pins, a touch of feather in the hair, big satin flowers on the shoes a la Carrie Bradshaw. I love it. I think it stems from wearing too many bows as a child…Either way, I seriously cannot get enough of it. It’s everywhere this season, from tank tops and headbands to slingbacks and dresses. So go out and make a statement. Whether it’s at the shower, out on the town, or strutting down the aisle… go big or go home.
Etsy is a fabulous place to find all things froof. The stuff out there is so fun! If you’ve never been… you’re missing out. They have Hairpieces, headbands and flowers….
Anthropologie also has some really fun and flirty headbands with loads of froof!
Brooches and pins…
And other fun things…
This is so great. This is a 5 satin rosette piece that detaches and can be added to any garmet! How much do you love that! Imagine adding it to the top of a simple little black dress! Not simple anymore… LOVE THIS!
Old Navy had some really great tanks in-store. They’re not available online, but they come in a whole bunch of colors with giant ribbon bows on the top left shoulder. It’s a nice little twist to the household beater.
And then there are Shoes…..
J.crew has these fabulous sandals that I would honestly kill for in every color. And they’re not $300+ like the rest of their shoes.
And on to the dresses… Seriously. Lela Rose is FANTASTIC. There’s froof everywhere.
